You can create API keys to access the Ghost API programmatically.

Keys

You can create API keys in the Settings —> API Keys view. Ghost does not store the key itself. The key is only displayed once at the time of creation.
Don’t share API keys. Always use secure methods to store and access them.

Permissions

An API key is associated with a user and has the same permissions as the user.

Organizations

API keys are scoped to an organization. If you belong to multiple organizations, you must create API keys within each organization.

Create a key

You can create a key by clicking the “Create a Key” button in the Settings —> API Keys view. The maximum lifetime of a key is 1 year.

Disable a key

You can disable a key by clicking the context menu () and selecting “Disable” in the Settings —> API Keys view. The key will be disabled immediately and will no longer be able to access the Ghost API.

Delete a key

You can delete a key by clicking the context menu () and selecting “Delete” in the Settings —> API Keys view. The key will be deleted immediately and will no longer be able to access the Ghost API.
